Short answer
If you are an EU, EEA, Swiss or Andorran student staying in Portugal for more than three months, you should expect to request CRUE through the Câmara Municipal where you live.
Student documents to prepare
- Valid passport or national identity card.
- Proof of enrollment in a recognized public or private education institution.
- Proof of sufficient resources for yourself and family members, if applicable.
- Health insurance or health coverage evidence when relevant.
- Proof of real address in the municipality.
- NIF if requested locally or already available.
Common student issues
Students often have temporary housing, shared rooms, university residences or informal accommodation. The CRUE file should make the address proof as clear and compliant as possible.
Minors and young students
If the student is a minor, additional family, parental or guardian documents may be required. The route must be checked before the appointment.
How we help students
We review enrollment evidence, address proof and resources documentation, then prepare the municipal checklist and support the practical process.
Check your student CRUE case
Send a short message about your CRUE situation. We will check whether the CRUE assistance package is a practical fit and suggest the next step.
