Student documents for CRUE in Portugal

Student CRUE cases need proof of enrollment, address and a credible basis for living in Portugal during the study period.

Short answer

A student applicant should prepare identity, proof of enrollment, proof of address, resources evidence and health coverage evidence where relevant. The municipality may have its own checklist.

Core student checklist

  • Valid identity card or passport.
  • Enrollment declaration from a recognized school, university or education institution.
  • Proof of address in the municipality.
  • NIF if requested locally or already available.
  • Bank statement, parental support declaration or other resources evidence.
  • Health insurance, European health coverage or equivalent document where relevant.

University residence and shared housing

If the student lives in a university residence or shared apartment, the address proof should clearly connect the student to that place. A generic booking or informal arrangement can create problems.

Parents and support documents

Where the student relies on parental support, documents may need to connect the supporter, the student and the resources evidence. This should be prepared before the municipal step.

How we help

We review enrollment, address and resources evidence, then prepare a municipality-specific checklist and appointment support.
