- Confirm that your stay in Portugal is longer than three months.
- Identify the Câmara Municipal of your area of residence.
- Prepare your valid ID or passport.
- Prepare the declaration and status evidence for work, self-employment, study, retirement, self-sufficiency or family status.
- Prepare real proof of address if the municipality requests it.
- Follow the local appointment, in-person or digital submission route.
- Pay the applicable official fee and keep the certificate safely after issue.
